Stephen Zopfi conducts the Portland Symphonic Choir this weekend in two performances of music by Jewish composers. We (I'm in the tenor section) will be singing three numbers from the "Talmud Suite" by Sid Robinovitch (including the restful "Prayer Before Sleep", Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," Joel Hardyk's "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," three arrangements of folk songs, and the world premiere of Judith Lang Zaimont's "Rememberance," which was commissioned by the Portland Symphonic Choir.
