Hear a new musical instrument - the Sireole!

Leave it to the French to whip up a new musical instrument that looks like a trumpeting flower blossom. The Sireole was invented in 1997 Franz Clochard, and it combines turbines and electronics. For the past ten years the Sireole has been refined and promoted by Mecanique Vivante, and you can experience the sounds that this instrument generates by clicking here. I think that we could benefit from a Sireole installation in Pioneer Courthouse Square, and, of course, invite composers to write something for it.

A big thanks to Bob Priest for telling me about the Sireole.
