The
Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Stephen Paulus passed away at the age of 65. He had been in a coma for the past two years after suffering a stroke. Paulus wrote the opera "The Postman Always Rings Twice" as well as nine other operas, 60 orchestral works, and 150 choral pieces. In 1973, he founded the
American Composers Forum.
I sang some of his music when I was a member of the Portland Symphonic Choir. He had a wonderful talent.
