My wife, Kathryn, sponsored a porch concert as a birthday present for me from our home a couple of weeks ago to our neighbors and anyone who walked by. Violinists Mary Rowell and Tatiana Kolchanova (also known as MT Duo) gave a wonderful performance of music by Mozart, Telemann, LeClair, Glière, Massenet, and others. Most of these pieces were done as arrangements, and the ad-hoc audience loved it. I think at least 40 people listened to what might be their only live classical concert of the summer. Mary is the concertmaster of the Bach Cantata Choir Orchestra and Tatiana frequently plays with the ensemble.
