According to this report from
King5, Seattle Opera has plans to demolish Mercer Arena and build a new facility for operations. Mercer Arena is located next to McCaw Hall. Operas would continue to be held at McCaw. The cost for the project is estimated at $60 million. Demolition of Mercer Arena should be completed by January on next year, and the new facility is scheduled to be finished sometime in 2018. Seattle Opera's operations currently is based in the South Lake Union area.
